** 8/27 Lecture Introduction to the course and topics of discussion; electric power generation. ** 8/29 Lecture on Electric power generation & quick overview of electric power markets; U.S. Energy Policies, Federal agencies, House Hearing on "American Energy Security & Innovation: the Role of a Diverse Electricity Generation Porfolio," and a mini exercise of "An Energy Generation Resource Management Exercise."
Week 2:
** 9/3 Lecture on Electricity generation and capacity; Electric bills, rates, tariffs and charge; Greenhouse emission; Electric load types; Household Carbon Footprint Calculator; and discussion of "Electric Power Cost Reduction & Management through Computer-based Predictive Control.
** 9/5 Lecture on Statistics App (Minitab 16) for Energy Management, Forecasting;
Energy Consumption study of Large Hospitals; Energy Auditing and Energy Mangement; U.S. BOEM and BLM Renewable Energy Projects.
